Check East Feliciana VINELink

An East Feliciana Parish arrest starts a chain of custody questions. Where is the person now? When did the booking happen? VINELink East Feliciana Parish service answers both for adults held in parish jails or state prisons. It also sends free alerts when custody changes. It is not a court docket, a full arrest history, or a federal-prison locator. Think of it as a live custody check.

Check an Arrest on VINELink

Start with the statewide service, not a people-search site. The interface supports searches by name, ID number, or case number, and lets you show or hide offender photos. Bring a full name plus one more known detail. Common names often return several matches.

  1. Open the official VINELink web service and choose Louisiana.
  2. Select the option to search for someone. Enter the person's name, ID number, or case number using only details you can verify.
  3. Compare possible matches by age, holding agency, location, unique identifier, and other displayed fields. Do not assume the first similar name is the right person.
  4. Open the matching record and inspect its current custody label and location. Note the time you checked because custody can change.
  5. If the record belongs to East Feliciana Parish Prison, compare it with the official East Feliciana roster. If a fresh arrest is not visible yet, follow the fallback on the Arrests Last 24 Hours page.

The VINELink search screen provides the starting point for a Louisiana custody check.

A blank result can mean several things. Intake may still be processing. The person may have been released or transferred. The booking may sit in another jurisdiction, or the record may be sealed or restricted. Juvenile and protected details should never be guessed from silence. When time matters, call East Feliciana Parish Prison at 225-683-3313.

What VINELink Shows After Arrest

Fields vary by agency and interface version. Louisiana's help material lists the details below, though not every record shows every field. The holding agency and custody status are the facts that matter most.

Result fieldHow to read it
Name and demographic detailsUseful for separating similar names; they are not proof of identity by themselves.
Unique ID or case numberA stronger reference for returning to the same record or speaking with an agency.
Holding agency and locationShows the custody system currently reporting the person, such as a parish jail or state prison.
Custody statusDescribes the recorded custody state. It is not a conviction or court disposition.
Booking dateMay appear in record details; compare it with the event being researched.
Photo controlThe interface may offer show/hide behavior, but a photo is not guaranteed and should not be copied or republished.

A release status simply records a custody event. It does not say why the person left. It also skips whether charges are pending, or what a judge decided. A transfer can be a move between facilities rather than a sentence. Filings and outcomes live elsewhere. The Twentieth Judicial District court file through the East Feliciana Clerk's records route is the stronger source.

Timing also differs between VINELink and the parish roster. LCLE says the roster system refreshes every 30 minutes. That pace is no guarantee an arrest appears online that fast. Officer paperwork, transport, intake, data entry, and later corrections can each happen at separate times.

Register for Free Custody Alerts

With the right record open, registration turns one search into a standing custody check. The system supports phone calls, texts, email, and TTY. You can pick more than one channel. Keep your contact method private, and set a PIN you can enter when a call alert arrives.

  1. Open the correct person's result and select “Get Notified” or the current alert-registration control.
  2. Choose the event types offered for that record, such as release, transfer, or another custody change.
  3. Enter the phone number, email address, text number, or TTY route that should receive the notice.
  4. Create and confirm the requested four-digit PIN. Telephone notifications continue until the recipient enters that PIN.
  5. Complete the confirmation delivered through the selected channel, then use VINELink's registration check when needed to make sure it remains active.

The VINELink record detail example shows where the notification controls sit on a live record page. Details about a real person should never be copied elsewhere.

What matters is the alert control tied to a verified record. Personal details in a shifting result matter less. Alerts help. They are not a full safety plan. Data entry, carrier delays, email filtering, or a changed registration can slow delivery. Check VINELink directly and call the reporting facility when timing is critical. In an emergency, dial 911 first. Skip the sheriff app, VINELink, and web forms.

VINELink Limits and Confirmation

LA VINE covers adult parish-jail and Louisiana state-prison custody only. It is not a universal incarceration search. Federal inmates belong in the Federal Bureau of Prisons locator, which shows no photos. Immigration detention runs through DHS-VINE. A Marshals hold, a juvenile case, or a sealed record may need a different official channel. A booking outside East Feliciana may need one too.

For a very recent East Feliciana arrest, watch the parish roster's timestamp and call the prison at 225-683-3313 when the answer cannot wait. For an older arrest, request the booking summary from EFPSO and search the Clerk's criminal records. A blank VINELink result is never proof that no arrest occurred.

Custody and criminal history are separate questions. A name can vanish from a live roster the day someone is released, yet the arresting agency's report and the court case still exist. The reverse happens too. A person may show up on a locator because of a probation or parole hold, not a fresh arrest in East Feliciana Parish. The Louisiana DPS&C locator updates daily and tracks state-sentenced custody, not a parish booking archive.

The parish roster carries unusual access terms. It opens with an agreement screen, offers A–Z and “Show All” controls, posts a last-updated time, and warns against unauthorized copying or publication. Those rules are one reason this page links to the official service rather than reproducing its content. Fields cover name, date of birth, gender, and race. No official source promises a routine photo field.

Choosing the Right Custody Channel

Pick the channel that fits your question. The parish roster handles a current East Feliciana Parish Prison check. LA VINE adds ongoing custody alerts on top of a search. EFPSO takes booking-record requests. The Clerk of Court holds the file for later court stages. Each source may describe the same East Feliciana incident at a different point. So apparent differences are not automatically errors.

  • Just arrested: allow for intake lag, inspect the roster timestamp, then call the prison when confirmation is urgent.
  • Currently held: compare the official roster and VINELink location, then register for alerts on the verified result.
  • Released or transferred: treat the alert as a custody update and consult the Clerk for the case outcome.
  • Sentenced to state custody: use Louisiana DPS&C and LA VINE rather than assuming the parish roster will retain the entry.
  • Federal or immigration custody: move to BOP or DHS-VINE because ordinary LA VINE coverage does not extend there by default.

These locators have a firm boundary. Fair Credit Reporting Act rules bar their use for employment, credit, tenant, insurance, or similar regulated decisions. Their purpose is locating and verifying official custody information. Names, status labels, and dates shift over time, so final confirmation belongs with the agency that created the arrest record.
